I came to know the real meaning of monsoon only after coming to Pune from Haryana where rains pour more in winter than in monsoon. The dark clouds fills me with excitement. On such rainy day me and my flatmate planned to have a trip to Raigad fort where I had never been.

We started early at 5'O clock in the morning on bike.To reach raigad we had to the beautiful tamhini ghat via Mulshi lake. By the time we reached Mulshi lake we were all wet due to very heavy downpur. We had tea and poha at a nearby restaurant. I have never seen such heavy rain in Pune. At that point I asked Kaushik whether its a right decision to go as still we have to cover 65% road to Raigad. He somehow motivated me.  I was not wearing the helmet and the only thing that was protecting my eyes from the incoming water drops was my aviator sunglasses.

In another 30 minutes rain took mercy on us and it finally stopped . Then the gates of whole new beautiful world were opened. Hill tops were lost in the clouds and beautiful white waterfalls were all over the place. We managed to get the time to click the pics and vids.

On the down hills of Tamhini ghat we found one nice waterfall to play with. We both had a nice time there.

After crossing the ghat we took left from Nizampur to Raigad. There were mostly plains covered with neon colour glass. Some parts of road were really bad. I guess the roads were from Shivaji's time and govt has decided to kept it as it is as a part of their heritage saving programme.

Finally we reached at the base of fort where we had our lunch.we decided to go to top by the rope way and come down by trekking. We came to know that it will take another couple of hours before we get our turn due to heavy rush. So we decided to go uphill and downhill by trekking. Difficult level was between easy and medium. There were beautiful waterfalls on the way and the view was spectacular.

After 2.5 hours of trekking we reached the fort or you can say whatever was left of the fort. There was temple along with Shivaji's statue. The main structures inside the Raigad Fort, which today stands mostly in ruins, comprise of Queen's Quarters, Public Durbar, Watch Towers, Darwazas (gateways), etc

We had somephotoshoot there.

It was like their MG road.

After one hour we started descending. We stopped at Nizampur to get the fuel for our bike as well as for ourselves ;). we stopped at sunset point of Tamhini ghat and recalled our wholeday.
